I’m delighted to invite you to a truly rare and immersive retreat in the heart of the African wilderness.
From 15–20 February 2027, we will gather in the Parsons Nature Reserve, part of the Greater Kruger National Park, for a once-in-a-lifetime experience of living, practicing, and resting in deep communion with nature.
This retreat is designed to let the bush take the lead. Here, the land is unfenced and wild, and for a few precious days we become guests in a world where the human footprint is light and life moves to an ancient rhythm. We share the landscape with elephants, lions, giraffes, and countless other animals who call this place home. Their presence is not something to observe from afar—it is tangible in the air, in the silence, in the way time seems to slow and soften.
There is something profoundly humbling and magical about being inside this timeless space, moving through the day attuned to the land, and falling asleep beneath a sky filled with stars, after spending hours watching the boma fire slowly burn away. This is an invitation to remember what it feels like to be part of nature, rather than separate from it.
A Day in the Bush
Our daily rhythm is shaped around the natural pulse of the wilderness, with twice-daily game drives anchoring the experience:
5:00 – 8:30 am
Sunrise game drive in an open vehicle
(Light snacks before departure and during the mid-drive stop)8:30 – 9:30 am
Nourishing breakfast
(Cold options like fruit and yoghurt, followed by a warm meal)10:30 am – 1:00 pm
Yoga — grounding, spacious, and deeply embodied vinyasa practice1:30 – 4:00 pm
Lunch, rest and reflection4:00 – 8:00 pm
Sunset game drive in an open vehicle
(Snacks and sundowners as the light fades)Evening
Firelight, shared stories, and the nighttime sounds of the bush
If you feel called to step out of the familiar, to practice in a place that feels timeless, and to be moved by the quiet power of the wild, this retreat offers something truly unforgettable.
Please note that space is limited to 8 adult yogis.
The yoga classes will be held outdoors or in an enclosed space, depending on the weather. They will be multi-level classes, blending aspects of heath yoga with flowing movements in a vinyasa style, each day targeting a different part of the body. Talks are informal, based on storied from the yoga traditions.
