informal cape town & karoo yoga retreat

A Journey of Yoga, Culture & Wide-Open Spaces

This offering is more than a retreat—it’s a curated journey into the heart of South Africa. We begin with three unforgettable days immersed in the colour, creativity, and coastal beauty of Cape Town, followed by three days of deep rest and reconnection in the vast stillness of the Karoo.

In Cape Town, we’ll explore one of the world’s most breathtaking cities: gazing up at the iconic Table Mountain, wandering through inspiring cultural spaces such as the Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa, and soaking up the lively energy of the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront. We’ll indulge in exceptional food, move at an unhurried pace, and absorb the relaxed, soulful rhythm that makes this city so magnetic. A visit to the historic wine lands and the charming university town of Stellenbosch and adjacent Franschoek rounds out this first chapter of the journey.

From there, the landscape shifts dramatically. We travel inward—both geographically and energetically—on a scenic “trek” into the ancient semi-desert of the Karoo. Here, we settle into a three-day intimate retreat at De Kruis, a beautifully restored 200-year-old farmhouse that embodies the spirit of old-world simplicity blended with refined comfort. With space for just eight guests, the homestead offers sweeping 360-degree views, profound quiet, and a thoughtfully designed pool area that harmonises heritage with modern ease.

Each morning at De Kruis begins with multi-level yoga practice at sunrise, held on the rooftop as the desert light slowly reveals the vastness of the land—an ideal setting for grounding, reflection, and renewal.
