Alchemy of Transformation: Yoga, Archetypes, and the Journey of the Soul

This three-day retreat invites you into the ancient dialogue between yoga, alchemy, and the archetypal imagination. Through daily morning practices (sadhana) of asana, chanting, pranayama, and meditation, we explore the body as the prima materia—the raw material of transformation. In the afternoons, studio talks and dialogue sessions weave together insights from Jungian and archetypal psychology, alchemical symbolism, and the mythic imagination of Joseph Campbell, alongside wisdom from the yoga tradition and the Upanishads.

We will explore how the classical elements and chakras of yoga resonate with the alchemical metals and planetary archetypes—earth with lead and Saturn, fire with iron and Mars, gold with the radiance of the sun. Archetypes such as the warrior, the lover, the seer, and the sage reveal themselves as inner figures on the path of growth and individuation. Myths from East and West—including the story of Nachiketa’s encounter with Yama, lord of death, in the Katha Upanishad—invite us into a deeper inquiry about mortality, immortality, and spiritual awakening.

Each day balances embodied practice (asana, pranayama, meditation) with reflection, dialogue, and restorative yoga, supporting both physical renewal and psychological insight. The retreat culminates in an integrative practice that honors transformation not as escape from life, but as a fuller return to it—grounded, alive, and illumined.
